Museum of Science and Technology The Museum of Science and Technology, located in Syracuse, NY, is an interactive, hands-on science museum.
	The Museum offers a wide variety of educational programs to schools and organizations in the area. They are known for their live science demonstrations, as well as their strong support of science programs in the local school systems. The challenge with this site was to take the best of a hands-on science museum and recreate the interactive environment on the Web. We met this challenge by making the best use of various Web technologies. We decided to focus on one particular aspect of what MOST is known for and translate it to the Web. Most's live science demos are not only hired for school groups but also for various organizations throughout the county. We recreated the demos in video format for Web site visitors to view. Because this Web site is widely used in the educational community, it was necessary to ensure that multiple formats of the video were available. Visitors can choose from narrowband and broadband formats for both Macintosh and PC platforms. The site also offers other interactive exhibits, including IPIX Immersive Images -- 360-degree photobubbles of an apothecary at the turn of the century, Native American Myths and Planetarium shows, and other interactive exhibits and scavenger hunts.
